About the Program
Working with horses offers a unique opportunity to learn and grow because of how sensitive and responsive they are to subtle cues, body language, and emotions.
While working with our horse herd, the youth will learn how to identify, express, and regulate their emotions without judgment or pressure and practice safe and sustainable ways to connect with themselves, others, and the world around them. These skills and experiences have been shown to decrease symptoms of depression and anxiety as the youth learn that they can meet challenges effectively and take risks.
Throughout the group, participants will learn about themselves through mindfulness practices, skill development, and relationship building. Horses allow for a safe and unique learning opportunity where participants can explore their boundaries, personal awareness, safety, and relationship patterns.
This program is funded by the Weld Trust and provided at no cost to participants. Donations are always welcome & appreciated.
This group is limited to 10 participants and occurs every Wednesday for 6-weeks.
Wednesday, October 9 - Wednesday, November 13 (5 - 7 PM)
