Born and raised in Roanoke, Southwest Virginia, Nate Parks grew up in a military family, with his father serving in the armed forces. A talented athlete, he earned a baseball scholarship to Virginia Tech, where he played at the collegiate level. After his baseball career, Nate joined the U.S. Army in 2008, training as a helicopter pilot.

During his service, he flew UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters with the 101st Airborne Division and deployed to Afghanistan in 2011. After returning, he was stationed in Washington, D.C., flying out of the Pentagon with the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In 2016, he transitioned from active duty to the U.S. Army Reserves, moved to Fort Worth, Texas, and welcomed his daughter into the world. His military aviation career continued as he piloted C-12 King Air aircraft before transitioning to private jets. In 2020, he deployed to Kuwait and Iraq, marking 15 years of dedicated service before retiring from the Army in February 2025.

Now, Nate works as an instructor pilot for United Airlines, specializing in the Boeing 777, primarily flying international routes. With six years at United, he brings a wealth of experience to training the next generation of pilots.

Outside of work, Nate enjoys outdoor adventures, including pack trips with horses, fly fishing, hunting, and staying active with pickleball, softball, and the gym. Most importantly, he loves spending time with his two children, who are now 7 and 9 years old, making the most of life in Texas.
